The Herringbone stitch creates a very dense fabric that is wonderfully warm for those cold winter days.  It is a slightly involved stitch pattern that mimics the woven looking fabric used to make men’s Herringbone suits.

The brim for the hat is knit flat with the Herringbone stitch then seamed together.  The stitches for the crown are picked up to continue knitting in the round.

Once size fits most adults with head circumference of approximately 21”-23”.

Adventurous Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Skill Level: must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work basic stitch patterns with combinations of knits and purls, simple increases/decreases, and follow written instructions.
