Description
Ranunculus, by Midori Hirose, is a stunning, round yoke pullover with lace and textured stitches that is knit top down and in the round. The finished pullover has cropped length so that you can lay it over dresses or high-waisted skirts and pants. If crops aren’t your style, you can adjust the body to your preferred length (and add more yarn).
The pattern is designed in one size (to fit XS-M) with a finished chest circumference of 50.75”. It is meant to be very oversized. There is a supplemental pattern with modifications for finished chest measurements up to 65” in circumference.
When you knit Ranunculus with thin yarn and big needles the result is a light, transparent pullover with an airy texture. You have the option of choosing any weight from lace/light fingering to worsted weight yarn (in either plant or animal fibers). The degree of transparency depends on the weight of yarn.
We will cover every technique and option this pattern has to offer.
- Smaller or wider boat neckline
- Short sleeves
- Long puff sleeves with diagonal cuff line or a normal cuff line.
Techniques to be covered include:
- Cable Cast on
- Double-Twist Loop Cast on
- Elastic Bind off
- German Short Rows
- Lace
- Provisional Tubular Cast on
- Right Lifted Increase
- Twisted Stitches
Intermediate Skill Level: must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work a variety of stitch patterns with combinations of knits and purls, and basic lace.
