Mosaic knitting is a fun, easy way to knit with two or more colors and achieve dramatic results without the stress of carrying two colors across a row. Each row of knitting is done with only one color at a time. The stitches in the second color are slipped without being knitted.

And like magic, you have this intricate (looking) pattern without shedding any tears!

NightShift by Andrea Mowry has been on the “what’s hot now” page on Ravelry since it came out in 2018. It is still one of the most compelling projects out there. This project checks all the boxes: engaging project (watching the colors shift), larger needles (instant gratification), and a unique accessory (you knit that?!).

In this class you will learn the techniques used in this pattern, including sideways shawl construction, mosaic knitting, I-cord edging, I-cord bind off, increasing, decreasing, slipping stitches, and changing colors.

To make the most of class time please knit swatch and discuss with teacher before class, so she can make needle adjustments as needed.

Adventurous Advanced Beginner (and up) Skill Level:  must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work basic stitch patterns with combinations of knits and purls, simple increases/decreases, and follow written instructions.
