Description

I’ll look for any excuse (reason) to knit with Noro yarns.  The color variations in their skeins are incredibly compelling.  Noro has a wide variety of yarns with different fiber blends to suit your climate.

This is a great pattern for beginners and experienced knitters alike.  Beginners will learn to pick up stitches, slip stitches, and work a three-needle bind off (or optional Kitchener stitch).

This is a portable project while you are knitting the individual squares (it’s small enough that it won’t rest in your lap during summer knitting).

You can customize the size of the blanket based on the number of squares you knit. Knit with 12 squares, the blanket will be approximately 57” x 40”.

During your first class you will learn the basic techniques of log cabin knitting. You are welcome to come monthly for camaraderie and support (nothing like attending a class to keep you on track). If you prefer to learn the basics and return for the finishing, that’s fine too!

Class meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month from 1:00 – 3:00 pm (EST) with ongoing enrollment. Students starting the class may be in the company of other knitters further along.

Note: The $35 class fee is per session. However, not all sessions are required. Attendance is optional based on your needs or technique assistance.

Advanced Beginner Skill Level: must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, work basic stitch patterns with combinations of knits and purls, and follow written instructions.
