Where is your stash?

Every now and then the topic of stash comes up. One of my favorite acronyms is SABLE, Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy.

Eleanor and Nan have their yarn in a closet, with a little overflow.

Calann has her yarn in a walk in closet.

I have Yarnia, where I’ve turned one of my kid’s old rooms into yarn storage and work space.

Where is your stash?

Jane cast on for Sailboat Cardigan using the long tail cast on. Since there were a lot of stitches, she used a method that doesn’t require estimating the tail. Click here for a good picture tutorial.

Yarn: Shelter (Worsted: 100% Targhee-Columbia, 140 yards).

As Eleanor was settling in, Jane B observed her penchant for the color blue: blue bag, blue knitting project, blue project bag, and the blue poncho she knit and was wearing. Photo bomb credit to Calann.

Eleanor finished one front of her customfit sweater. Yarn: Juniper Moon Farm Moonshine (Worsted: 40% Alpaca, 40% Wool, 20% Silk, 197 yards).
Her Motif Scarf is very interesting. Yarn: Shibui Baby Alpaca (DK: 100% Baby Alpaca, 255 yards ~ discountinued yarn).

Calann’s gauge too loose on “One Top, Four Ways” from Twist it magazine August 2016. She’s going to put the sweater on waste yarn and try it on her daughter to see if she has to change needle size and start over. Yarn: Anzula Cricket (DK: 80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere, 250 yards).

Her Christmas Stocking is coming along nicely.
Nan made HUGE progress since last week’s class. Her Chevron Blanket looks great. Yarn: Plymouth Worsted Merino (Worsted: 100% Merino, 218 yards).

Jane T. is working on one of the sleeves of the Car Coat with Hood she is knitting for her daughter. She had a moment of selective reading. The directions read repeat “every 8th row until you meet stitch count”. She read it as “repeat 8 times”. If she did it her way, the stitch count would have been way off.

Allison Cameo Scarf/Wrap in Berroco Nebula (Fingering: 100% Merino, 415 yards) and Berroco Folio (DK: 65% Alpaca, 35% Rayon, 219 yards). Her colors remind me of Caribbean waters, very soothing and there is purple in it.😉

She is revisiting her Agnes Sweater in Brooklyn Tweed Loft (Fingering: 100% Targhee-Columbia, 275 yards).

Harry relaxing in the shade. I wonder what goes through his mind that he decides to drape his paws over the bricks.
