Balancing Work & Play

Having given my Summit Shawl to the finisher to be blocked, I felt the need to just play with sticks and string.
I swatched for a new sweater idea with Cascade Ultra Pima, one of my favorite yarns. The pattern stitch is based on a sweater one of my cousins was wearing last summer. I think it’s going to be a top-down and definitely a v-neck. The rest is pure speculation.
Since I have to balance work and play (even though the line between them gets pretty blurry), I spent some time weaving in ends on the hexagons I completed. I’m waiting for more cotton classic to come in before I keep going. I’ve used up 3 colors (from my left over bits).

I also swatched for the Hexagon Petal Tee by Maria Leigh from Interweave Knits, Spring 2011.
This sweater was designed using Cascade Ultra Pima, so I figured I’d break with my usual tradition of substituting the yarn in a pattern and actually use the yarn it calls for. I know, it’s unusual.
