Robin was ready to join the sleeves to the body of her Wonderful Wallaby today. Although she read through the pattern and I explained what she was going to be doing, she couldn’t visualize it. It’s times like these that I suggest you “take a leap of faith” and knit exactly the way the directions say and then the understanding will come.
She set about leaping into her knitting and got the first sleeve on and knit across to the second sleeve. It was still hard to visualize what happened with the 6 sts on st holders on the sleeve and in the same place on the body (they get grafted together in the end). When she was through leaping, she got it. Home stretch of the Wallaby now. (The sweater is knit in Encore Worsted.)
Her other project is a relatively simple baby blanket pattern from String. She’s knitting it in Encore Chunky.
Elizabeth started working on the crocheted vest this weekend. I LOVE her colors. Happily for both of us, she is enjoying working on the vest. She started the second half today. Michelle was feeling some peer pressure to get cranking on her vest. Which is now called “The Shell Game.”
Michelle ready to sew the baby sweater together. Since I know how much she hates sewing, I suggested she block it first which will make it much easier to sew. The yarn is Artyarns Ultramerino 8.
Margarita is crocheting squares from my Crocheted Sampler Blanket. Today she worked up the 3-d flower in the center of the picture. It’s a pleasure to knit/crochet alongside Margarita as she is so happy to be crocheting.
She taught her grandaughters how to knit and they have been taking the knitting on the bus with them into school. Their friends wanted to learn how and Margarita told them to look up my Youtube videos on beginning knitting. I was so flattered! Sometime this summer she may bring her grandauthers by to show off their knitting. I love that.
