Snow days = great knitting days. Sarah started this vest from NY Yarns Booklet #036 on a snow day and finished it up with great buttons. She knit it in North Pole yarn. Fitting for a winter sweater vest.
She swatched with Filati Luxor yarn to knit a chunky ribbed hat flat. The picture doesn’t show off all the colors as well as I’d like.
Sarah also started a sweater from a Rebecca booklet and is knitting it in Leona, a chain cotton yarn.
Elizabeth knit these Prism socks by Jaya S. in a yarn by Whimzy Prinzy Creations, the colorway is called “believe”.
Diane worked on double points for the first time to work up the thumb stitches on her fingerless glove. She was not loving the clumsy aspect of getting going on dpns. 
She did manage to get her thumb completed and bound off. Will she suffer from 2nd glove syndrome ~ the sister syndrome to second sock syndrome?
Abby swatch in Tahki Torino Bulky for the Coco Knits Double Wrap Cowl, she had to go up a needle size. Since Abby is new to knitting, we’re still getting a feel for what kind of knitter she is (loose vs. tight).
Sunaina brought out some Manos del Uruguay yarn to begin a shawl. I showed her how to make yarn over increases for a pretty eyelet to run along the edge of her shawl. Things are improving for her. This project took off after the 2nd try!
Here’s Sunaina’s finished Double Wrap Cowl. She commented that she did not like this project at all and was prepared to give it away. That is until it was sewn together and she tried it on. The yarn is Torino Bulky, which is lovely. She used the (old fashioned) metal knitting needles which are very slippery. She is going to make another and use bamboo or rosewood needles instead. I’m glad she was happy with it after all.
Michelle came back (after a 2 year hiatus) with the Lopi cabled sweater she’s knitting for her husband. She hadn’t picked it up since we last met and needed to get reacquainted with the pattern and where she was.
