Michelle is almost done with her knit spiral blanket (pattern from Lion Brand and knit in Sublime Organic Cotton DK). Right now it measures out 24″ each way. If she makes 3 more color changes it will be 36″.
She’s got to knit a hat for her husband’s birthday, he actually went on Ravelry and searched out men’s hats to find one he liked! I’m impressed. The pattern is written by Jared Flood and is called “Turn a Square” . It’s got to be a surprise, so she’ll have to knit on the sly.
Mary received two scarves from
the Ravelry travelling scarf group.
The one on the left is to be done in
different reds. One person did really
cool intarsia. Mary’s yarn is below. We found a good stitch pattern from the book 200 Knitted Blocks. It will work for both scarves. The one of the right is dubbed a stash scarf and could be any color. I like how this one is coming out. So far this one and the one done all in neutrals (so the owner of the scarf could dye it herself) have been my favorites I keep going back and forth on whether I’d like to do this. I guess if you were pretty specific about what you want and let it be from there, it’d work. This is not a group for the A-type people.
Mary finished her Sublime Snowflake Scarf knit in Artyarns silk pearl and beaded pearl and sequins. Go Mary! So far she has finished each project in the Jump start Holiday program at Knitting Central. She wasn’t sure if the scarf needed to be steamed or put under the sofa to be blocked. I said sofa blocking would be fine. 🙂
I was working on baby booties to complete a gift I’m knitting for my neighbors. They just had their 3rd child. I decided 3/4 of the way done with the second that I’d prefer to make baby socks. No pix, I frogged it. I like the idea of little baby socks, they’ll stay on better. I’m knitting them to go with the baby hat I made out of Plymouth Jellibeenz.
The hat in the middle is for the baby. The
other two hats are for the siblings.
